First, we were told that Opiate addiction is a bad thing, so we started treating it. We used drugs like Methadone and Suboxone which also act on the Opiate receptors, causing dependence and addiction. Now we are going to address Suboxone withdrawal. And for that, we won’t use another opioid medication.

Instead, we will rely on Kratom, an herbal supplement that is the best alternative to these drugs. This article will discuss the topic ‘using kratom for Suboxone withdrawal.’

What is Suboxone?

SuboxoneSuboxone is a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone. Buprenorphine acts as an opioid medication while naloxone is a medication that blocks the effects of opioids.

It decreases opioid abuse and serves as an analgesic. Suboxone is used to treat Opiate addiction. Suboxone has serious side effects.

It can cause serotonin syndrome. Also, if you are taking other medications for other ailments, Suboxone might interact with those drugs to produce lethal results.

Pregnant and lactating women can’t use Suboxone for Opiate withdrawal. Suboxone causes addiction, and thus its withdrawal is essential. The best option that is available for withdrawing Suboxone is Kratom.

The side effects of using Suboxone include; allergic reaction, breathing problem due to depression of respiratory system, blurring of vision, slurred speech, and adrenal gland disorders, liver problems, jaundice.

What is Suboxone withdrawal?

Since one of the components of Suboxone, i.e., Buprenorphine is an opioid medication, suboxone can cause addiction.

It similarly causes addiction as all Opiates do. It acts on the Opiate receptors present in the brain to produce euphoria and a feeling of well being but milder as compared to traditional Opiates which is why it is incorporated in the treatment regimen of narcotic withdrawal.

Receptors gradually get desensitized to the effects of Suboxone, and thus more dosage is required.

This is when you develop an addiction to it. On the completion of Opiate withdrawal treatment, one has to withdraw from Suboxone too. The withdrawal symptoms of Suboxone arise when it is not consumed.

These symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, shaking, runny nose, muscle pain, watery eyes, feeling very cold or hot, etc. These signs need to be treated immediately to relieve the patient.

What is Kratom?

KratomNative to the region of Southeast Asia, Kratom or Mitragyna Speciosa is a plant that is famous for its use in medicine.

The leaves of the plant are composed of natural alkaloids that act as an Opioid agonist.

These alkaloids are forty or more in number, but the ones that are known for producing effects are Mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine.

These alkaloids can vary in different types of Kratom. Kratom at low doses produces stimulating results, but at higher doses, it acts as a sedative.

At small doses, Kratom produces euphoria-like feeling, enhancement of cognition, alleviation of anxiety and stress.

At a higher dose, Kratom also acts as an analgesic. Kratom is classified into three types. These three types are Red Veined kratom, White veined Kratom, and Green-veined kratom. As the name suggests, these varieties are classified by the central vein of the leaf.

Kratom can be used in various forms. Normally, people take it by the toss and wash method or by making Kratom tea, but taking capsules, tablets, tinctures, and extracts are equally popular methods.

Kratom is a known substance for helping with the symptom of Opiate withdrawal and opioid medication withdrawal like Suboxone and Methadone.

How can Kratom help with Suboxone withdrawal?

Both Kratom and Suboxone act on the Opiate receptors. Thus Kratom can help in the withdrawal of Suboxone.

The withdrawal symptoms of Suboxone like pain, lethargy, runny nose, etc. are alleviated by the use of Kratom because Kratom increases the levels of dopamine and adrenergic neurotransmitters in the body.

Kratom also reduces anxiety by potentiating the effects of GABAergic pathways that inhibit the brain from going to hyperactive states.

Kratom causes analgesia by promoting the release of enkephalins and suppressing the pain pathway.

The ill feeling that you get after Suboxone withdrawal is neutralized by the euphoric feeling that comes with the use of Kratom.

Kratom also relieves insomnia associated with Suboxone withdrawal. In these ways, Kratom helps with Suboxone withdrawal.

  1. It takes a LOT longer than 2-3 days for Suboxone withdrawal symptoms to manifest and be gone, sometimes up to months.

  2. The amount of kratom I had to consume in order for any symptoms to be literally just kept at Bay was far from healthy, made it three days and even the kratom wouldn’t stop the WD. GUYS SAFELY WEEN TO AS LOW AS POSSIBLE AND STAY THERE TIL YOURE STABILIZED. Don’t give yourself a heart attack because you’re sick of the judgement from subs. I’m going to attempt to get back down to 2 mg then once stabilized only take 1 mg as my body demands, slowly replace it with music or excercise and if you’re attempting to get off a proper diet and hydration are vital. If I didn’t have work I would have stuck it out but it really was unnecessary hell don’t kill yourself trying to get off, you’ll get there

  3. I really hope this works. I would just tough it out but I work 10-12 hours a day sometimes 7 days a week. I’m just tired of being dependent on anything. It’s just starting to affect my self esteem. Taking suboxone was the only option i had when I stopped using because I was pregnant. Just pray for me this works!

  4. I too am struggling with self esteem and cost of sub s. And also tired of dependency on a pill or strip or……
